Impact of volcanism on sedimentary basins – Multidisciplinary geological, geophysical, laboratory and numerical research

Numerous sedimentary basins worldwide host intrusive and extrusive volcanic products. The impact of volcanic activity of sedimentary basin evolution has been neglected for long time, however, the last decade of research evidence that even small volumes of volcanism can deeply impact the structure, thermal evolution and permeability distribution, which have tremendous implications on fluid generation and flow. During this presentation, I will present a summary of my research about various aspects of volcanic impacts on sedimentary basins.
